Matterly – AI Law Firm Management SaaS With Smart Forms

Matterly is a self-hosted, multi-tenant practice management platform for law firms, advocates and legal practices. One installation runs your own legal SaaS: onboard unlimited firms, sell subscription plans with automated billing, and give every firm its own admin panel, staff roles and permissions, public website with online consultation booking, client portal, and AI tools.

Its flagship feature is AI Smart Forms: describe a legal document and AI drafts it, with the fields a client fills in. Share it securely, the client fills it in and signs it online, both sides receive the signed PDF, and the firm accepts it or asks for specific answers to be corrected. Built with Laravel 12, React 19, TypeScript and Inertia.js, and installed from the browser with no shell access.

AI Smart Forms (LegalFrame)

• Create with or without AI: describe the document and AI writes the wording and the fields, or start blank. Presets for client intake, NDA, consultation agreement, fee arrangement and medical authorization.
• Drag-and-drop document builder: fields sit inside the wording, so clients read a document, not a questionnaire. Nine field types: short text, long text, number, date picker, dropdown, single choice, checkbox, file upload and signature.
• Secure sharing: a link with a random 32-character code, an optional access PIN, a link expiry date, and an on/off switch. Send it by email, or send several forms from a matter in one email so each response files itself on that matter.
• Client view: questions on one side, the document filling in live on the other, an on-screen signature, and clear guidance to any required answers still missing.
• Notifications: the client receives a receipt email with their signed PDF. Firm staff get an in-app alert, and admins, partners and office managers get an email with the PDF.
• Review and change requests: read the response as a document or as answers, download the PDF, link it to a matter, accept or archive it. Or flag the exact answers to fix: the client’s form reopens with those fields highlighted, and a Changes view shows every answer that changed, before and after.
