Identifly | Flutter App AI Multi Category Identifier With Laravel Admin Panel

Identifly is a cross-platform Flutter mobile application (iOS & Android) that identifies things from a photograph. Point the camera at a plant, mushroom, insect, bird, fish, animal, rock, coin, trading card or antique, and the app answers with ranked matches, a confidence score for each, and a full written entry for whichever one the user picks. It combines a polished native mobile UI with a production-ready Laravel admin panel backend, Firebase Remote Config, and Google Gemini AI.

The app is organized around five slots in the bottom bar — Home, Collection, a raised centre Identify button, Discover, and Profile — giving users a complete loop from photographing something unknown to keeping it in a collection. Every result carries key facts, written sections, lookalikes, a safety banner where one applies, and for collectibles a value estimate with a rarity rating.

Two ideas worth knowing before you buy

• The knowledge is written once and read forever. Each scan is one Gemini vision call. The expensive “describe this subject” call happens once per subject, per language, ever — after that it is a primary-key read for every user who finds the same thing. That is what makes ten categories affordable to run, and the Discover encyclopedia fills itself up as a by-product.
• The app hard-codes no category. It fetches the category registry from your API and renders whatever comes back: colours, icons, capture tips, and a result built from lists of labelled strings. One renderer draws a coin and a mushroom. Adding an eleventh category is an admin form — it needs no app release, no rebuild, and no resubmission.

• Written catalogue entries: powered by Google Gemini — generates the key facts, sections, lookalikes and FAQ for a subject the first time anyone identifies it, then stores the result and reuses it.
• Expert follow-up chat: powered by Google Gemini — answers questions scoped to one specific identification.

All identifications, written entries, safety notes and value estimates produced inside the app are AI-generated content and are approximate. An identification is a machine estimate with a confidence score, not a determination. The app shows an explicit safety banner on plant, mushroom, insect and animal entries and a standing warning never to eat, handle or approach anything on the strength of a photograph; value estimates are indicative and are not an appraisal.
